MAN CROWDED OUT BY WIFE’S FAMILY
(P.A.) AUCKLAND. March 18. A man who claimed that his wife’s
family crowded him out of his home, forcing him to seek accommodation on his own elsewhere, was granted a decree nisi by Mr. Justice Stanton in the Supreme Court yesterday. The petitioner, Robert Ormond Lindsay, watersider, said that he was married at Kawene on September 30, 1940. He left next day for Auckland and obtained a flat. His wife arrived with her mother, and sister and the sister's child. They caused overcrowding at the fiat which consisted of a bed-sitting room with a double bed and a kitchenette. “My wife told me to sleep elsewhere,” the petitioner said. He stayed with his brother-in-law and gave his wife food money. His wife refused to send her family home. In November, 1940, the respondent and her family returned to Rawcne, saying that she was finished with the petitioner. The decree nisi was granted on the grounds of desertion.
