A few years ago provision was made at the British Leprosy Hospital at Makogai in Fiji for the treatment of patients from American Samoa. Last year the chief medical officer from American Samoa visited Makogai and expressed pleasure at the happiness of his people and with the fact that they, along with all the other patients, participated in the regular gifts from New Zealand. His appreciation was conveyed tangibly to Mr. P. J. Twomey, secretary of the Leper Trust Board, a few days ago, by the receipt of a letter of thanks from the Governor of American Samoa and a cheque for £7l “in recognition of the fine work done by the New Zealand Leper Trust Board for our Daticnts from American Samoa.
