(P.A.) AUCKLAND. Sept.. 3. With the expulsion of the Canadian Seamen’s Union from the International Transport Workers’ the Manz Line freighter, Ottawa Valley, should now be able to berth. The ship has lain idle in the stream for 51 days. The New Zealand Transport Workers Federation affiliated with the international body is now no longer obliged to blacklist the Seafarers' International Union, with whose members the Ottawa Valley is manned. The position has been aptly described as an “untying of knots.” The international federation has taken the first step in untangling tire complications ol the dispute which has held up Canadian ships in all parts of the world and resulted in bitter feeling and some bloodshed —even in Auckland. However, until the New Zealand federation rescinds the “black” motion on its books the position will remain unchanged. The Auckland Harbour Boarcl has received no application yet from the ship’s agents for a berth. If and when they do the harbour boaid workers and watersiclers bound by their affiliation to work the ship.
