(P.A.) _ TIMARU, Sept. 4. Outweighed in the scrums and outpaced in the backs South Canterbury were beaten by Southland by 2G points to nil in a representative Rugby match in Timaru on Saturday. South Canterbury came close to scoring at times with back rushes, but the movements lacked finish and were smothered. For Southland Creedy. Adam, Pittaway, Bennett and McCaw scored tries. Miller kicked a penalty goal and converted four tries.
