REPORTED SOVIET ATTEMPT TO KILL TITO IN POLA
LONDON, Aug. 14. An unsuccessful attempt to kill Marshal Tito was made by “Soviet agents” during his visit to Pola, says the News of the World’s correspondent in Rome, quoting reliable reports received in Trieste. One hundred and 50 persons have been arrested in connection with the attempt, including some Yugoslav Army officers, 30 of whom are said to have been shot.
