KAITI CITY WITHDRAWS FROM SENIOR COMPETITION
RUGBY FOOTBALL
Advice that the Kaiti City club's senior team had now withdrawn from the P.B. Rugby Union's competition was received by the management committee at its meeting last night.
When the present round in the senior competition finishes on August 20, senior players are to have trial representative matches. The committee decided to arrange two single Possibles v. Probables matches on September 3 and 10.
Though it was suggested that there should be four trial fixtures, it was considered that shortages in the senior ranks precluded this. Permission was granted to the Marist Brothers Old Boys Club for its senior team to play an Auckland Technical Old Boys Club team on the Oval on September 10. It was stated that tentative arrangements had been made lor the visiting team to travel by air. Tlaycr Cautioned A member of the Y.M.P. junior team which played 11.5.0.8. last Saturday wah severely cautioned for alleged foot tripping, it' was stated that this player had been ordered from the field after the referee of the match had issued a general warning to the team for such a breach. Facilities at Barry Park
The need for dressing facilities at Barry Park was referred to in a letter front' the Old Boys Club. The matter was referred to Messrs. K. F. Jones and B. Dodge for investigation and a report to the committee.
