South Island Resolution Of No-Confidence In P.M.
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 13. A motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, on the grounds of his attitude to compulsory military training and the manner in which the referendum was conducted was carried at a meeting of the Canter burv Builders and General Labourers’ Union this week. This was announced by the secretary. Mr. J. Shankland, today. The resolution was passed on by the union to the North Canterbury Labour RcDresentation Committee, he said. Mr. Shankland stated that it was to come before the committee on Thursday evening, but the .latter hud not been reached when the meeting adjourned It was not a vote of nocontidence in the Labour Party, but in Mr. Fraser, he added.
