“GAMBLING IN GILTS” IN LONDON
LONDON. Aug. 10. The gilt-edged market on the London Stock Exchange has become “the biggest gambling casino of the lot,” according to dealers. “We are now gambling in gilt instead'of gold,’’ said one commentator today. From its normal position as a market barometer and stabiliser, giltedgccl had become the biggest speculative market, dealers said. They could not. remember such a thing ever having happened before.
