INDIAN RED UNIONS’ CONGRESS BANNED
BOMBAY, May 19.
The annual session of the Communist, dominated All-India Trade Union Congress, due to be held here from May 27 to May 30, was today banned by the Police Commissioner.
Mr. Antrit Shah, assistant secretary of the A.1.T.U.C., said his congress would demand the intervention by the Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru.
* Meanwhile the" A.I.T.U.C. president, Mr. S. Dange, who, with 200 others is on a hunger strike in provincial gaols, demanding better treatment, was reported to be getting weaker.
