AERIAL TOP-DRESSING PLANNED FOR LANDS NEAR WAIROA
(S.R.) WAIROA, May 20. Aerial top-dressing is to be carried out at Cricklewood station, near Wairoa, within a week or two. The property is owned by Mr. Humphrey Bayly, who for some time has been conberned at the poor lambing percentage and cost of dosing with cobalt which appeared the only way to eilect an Improvement. In addition, however, ;op-dressing with a cobalt mixture in Imperphosphatc was carried- out. This tdded a cost of £1 14s per ton on to the trice of the fertiliser.
As a result of data compiled Mr. layly has decided to spread cobaltf.ilphate in solution over 5000 acres at tie rate of 20oz. to the acre. The distibution is to be arranged by the East (oast Aero Club, the aircraft to be used being a Tiger Moth. The plane is t> land and take off during the operatans from a flat area near the homesad. The work is to be privately ontrollcd.
