The expansion of nationalisation plans to industry and commerce and excessive social security were having a devastating effect on Britain, said Mr. John' McLean, president of the Association of British Chambers’ of Commerce, addressing the association’s annual meeting today. “The expansion of nationalisation deprives ordinary men of the opportunity to profit by the produce of his brain and excessive social seourity saps his moral strength,’’ he added. “Unless these two trends are halted and reversed, we shall soon become a thirdrrate ; Power.”
