Czech Sports Team Overdue At Prague
(10 a.m.) PRAGUE. May 6.
Czechoslovakia’s national basketball team, which was due back from Italy on May 2, has not returned and the State-controlled Sokol, the athletic authority, is puzzled, says the Associated Press correspondent.
At least one member of the team is known to have deserted rather than return to Czechoslovakia.
One rumour in Prague is that the Italian authorities would not give a clearance for the return of the plane which took the team to Italy.
Another is that half the team want to stay in Italy and that the other half is trying to persuade them to change their minds.
