CRUISERS ON WAY TO HONG KONG AND EAST INDIES
(10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 6. The Admiralty today announced the strengthening of the Royal Navy in the East Indies, Far East and Pacific. The cruiser Mauritius left Devonport today for the Mediterranean before joining the East Indies Fleet.
1 The cruiser Jamaica will go to the Far East from West Indies. She is expected at Hong Kong on May 31, The destroyer Comet and the new frigates Morecambe Bay and Mounts Bay will leave shortly to join the Royal Navy in the Pacific.
