Successful Ballroom Dancing Candidates
In the recent ballroom dancing examinations conducted by Margaret Michael for the Corbett School ot Dancing, the following candidates were successful:— „ . , Latin-American Bronze Medals— Misses Daphne Davis, Shirley Lockwood, Elvira Courtney, Mane Kyne, Valma Thomas, Phyllis Torrey, Rosa Vita, Molly Anderson, Rosa Nigro, Nora McCarthy; Messrs. Raymond Jones, James Potaka. Special commendation in this class was given to Miss Jocelyn Gregory. Latin-American Silver Medal. Misses Shirley Lockwood. Elvira Courtney, Phyllis Torrey, Rosa Vita, and Jocelyn Gregory. Modern Ballroom Dancing Bronze Medal.—Misses Shirley Lockwood, Elvira Courtney, Natalie Meara, Valma Thomas, Phyllis Torrey, Rosa Vita, Jocelyn Gregory, and Valma Hutchins. Mr. Pat Corbett left Gisborne today for Auckland, where he will take a refresher course from Miss Ivy Biberstein, after which he will proceed to Wellington for courses with Margaret Michael and Mr. James respectively.
