Regent.—One of the most distinguished and beautiful motion pictures ever filmed, “I’ve Always Loved You,” the technicolour musical drama which is coming to the Regent today, was produced and directed by Frank Borzage. ‘T’ve Always Loved You” is an intensely dramatic story Into which is woven some of the finest music ever written by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn. Philip Dorn and a sensational newcomer, Catherine McLeod, head a superlative cast. King’s.—ln response to the hearty acclaim that greeted their appearance in “Mother Wore Tights,” Betty (Irable and Dan Dailey are again teamed in “When My Baby Smiles At Me,” Twentieth Century-Fox’s newest musical, which, photographed in colour, opens today at the King’s Theatre. The picture is based on Broadway’s most famous romantic drama about show business and is said to give the screen its first story of show people as they really are. A warm, heart-tugging story of the flamboyant life and love of a stage couple when burlesque was at its greatest. Isndor Goodman.—lmpressions gained while Hying with his piano to play to troops in all parts of the jungle gave Isador Goodman, then a captain in charge of the music section of the army education department scheme, the initial inspiration to compose his “New Guinea Fantasy.” Originally written for piano and orchestra, Mr. Goodman has now rescored the first movement for piano alone and gave its first public performances in Sydney not long ago. He played it privately before some friends in Perth. Mr. Goodman will give one concert in the Gisborne Opera House on Easter Saturday night. Box plans are now open at Tattersali and Bayly’s Limited.
