ALL BLACKS GIVE DEMONSTRATIONS TO SCHOOL PUPILS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 8. In keeping with time-honoured practice members of the 1949 All Blacks now assembled in Wellington today met primary school children to give talks and demonstrations.

The manager of the team, Mr. J. H. Parker, and the players were only too pleased to meet this request, many having pleasant recollections themselves of the avidity with which they flocked as youngsters to hear and see All Blacks of the past. The players all look in good shape for their coming tour. They are to spend five days in Wellington before leaving for Auckland on Tuesday to board the Tamaroa.

The smoothness with which the outfitting plans were carried out yesterday when all but the Auckland members reached Wellington reflected the highest credit on the work of the outfitting subcommittee of the New Zealand Rugby Union. In addition the doctor was visited for the final medical overhaul.

Having disposed of this in good time the players indicated their keenness to get down to the more serious side of the tour by taking part in a training run at Athletic Park in the afternoon. The New Zealand union has left nothing undone in equipping of the team. The gear provided is likely to cost about £IBOO.
