U.S. INTELLIGENCE SERVICES TO BE STRENGTHENED
(11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Mar. 8. The House of Representatives by 348 votes to four yesterday passed a guardedly worded bill to strengthen the United States intelligence network abroad.
In a report accompanying the Bill, the House Armed Services Committee said: “The report does not contain a full detailed explanation of all the provisions of the proposed legislation in view of the fact that much of the information is highly confidential." The bill was brought to the floor of the House under strict rules limiting debate and barring amendments. The bill now goes to the Senate.
