VALUABLE STOCK INJURED BY DOGS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. Vicious attacks by marauding dogs in the Johnsonvilie district are almost nightly injuring, sometimes killing, valuable breeding and fat ewes, states Mr. R. Styles, a stock man, who claims that the damage has been caused by pet dogs let loose for jaunts. A number of breeding ewes were shown to a reporter as the latest evidence of worrying. In these cases dogs had gone for the soft spots —the ears. Two ears had been gnawed off. Mr. Styles said the trouble had been going on for years. Many sheep had been killed and others chased into ditches where they were lost. Many more sheep, because of injuries, were useless for breeding purposes,
