WAR GRAVES IN EUROPE.—A wreath-laying service for war graves in Europe has been organised by the British Legion and is available for New Zealanders, it was announced yesterday by the Wellington Returned Services’ Association. The service covers France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany with the exception at present of the Russian zone). HISTORIC DOCUMENTS.—A collection of historic documents covering a good deal of the early history of New Zealand has been transferred from Government House, Wellington, to the custody of the Dominion archives. The some 200 leather-bound volumes chiefly contain original correspondence between the Secretary of State for the Colonies and early Governors and other officials and cover the period from 1840 to 1900.
