POLISH PRIESTS TO DIE FOR AIDING REBEL BAND
LONDON, Mar. 6.
A military court at Lodz sentenced two Roman Catholic priests to death for aiding an “underground band" charged with murdering 55 security police and local Communist Party officials in the last two years-
A third priest was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment. The leader, Jan Malolepszy was also sentenced to death.
The president of the court, in passing the sentences, said tiia State was not fighting religion but was determined to stamp out reactionary elergy who used religious authority to instigate crimes against Poland.
