MANY IDLE OWING TO WOOL STORE STRIKE
(11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Mar. 8. Employers say that 9000 men will be unemployed shortly in the leather and wool industries if the wool store dispute continues. ■ This will be additional to the dismissal today of 1000 storemen and packers. The Storemen and Packers’ Union is demanding a wage rise of 30s a week and banned three weeks ago the removal of wool, hides, skins and tallow from the stores. Master tanners have only enough stocks for 10 days, after which shoe manufacturers may be forced to close down. Most of the employees in the 11 main Sydney wool stores will be dismissed at various times today if they still refuse to do duty.
