N.Z. FAMILY’S AGES AGGREGATE 925 YEARS: WORLD RECORD CLAIM
(P.A.) WANGANUI, March 7. The Tlawkcn family of 13 brothers and sisters, all born at a Maungatapere farm, claim to be the world’s oldest family, aggregating 925 years.
The oldest member of the family is aged 80 years and the youngest 62 years.
Last week Reuter's correspondent in Helsinki claimed the distinction for a Finnish family, also 13 in number, whose ages, ranging from 52 to 78 years, totalled 860. The original Mr. Charles Hawken arrived in New Zealand from Cornwall in 1803. *
