GRASS FIRE AT WAINUI
The Gisborne Fire Brigade received a call on Saturday afternoon to Waintii, where a grass-fire swept portion of the properly of Mr. W. Firth, adjacent to the point where the main East Coast highway emerges on to the coast-line. The fire damaged a carefully-tended shrubbery before volunteer firefighters, reinforced” by a party of brigadesmen, brought the outbreak under control.
