ISRAEL TO HAVE A COALITION GOVT.

(11.10 a.m.) TEL AVIV, Mar. 4. The formation of a four-party coalition Cabinet in Israel is announced in a letter from the Prime Minister, Mr. Ben-Gurion, to Dr, Weizmann, President.

The Mapai (Labour) Party, the'Prime Minister’s party, holds 12 posts, the Orthodox Bloc 3, Progressives 1, and Scobardim 1.

These parties will be able to secure 73 votes in the Constituent Assembly, 12 more than needed for a majority.

Mr. Ben-gurion has offered three portfolios to Mapam (the pro-Russian group), and one to the General Zionists which so far they have refused to accept.
