BIG ENTRY OF STORE SHEEP FINDS A STEADY MARKET

MATAWHERO RATES Store stock remaining unsold when Iho final ewe fair of the season was cancelled last month, because of lack of entries, built up the entry at the weekly stock sale conducted at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday to about the 10,000 mark and met a steady market.

Local buyers operated fairly freely but the main competition came from Hawke's Bay.

There was a small entry of fat cattle. Values quoted for ox beef were from £l2 10s to £ls. a Hereford heifer made £lO tis, and a Jersey cow £O.

In the fat sheen section there was a ! better class of wether than seen for i some time, 187 4 and 0 tbs. sold on , account of Mr. A. Lloyd making 4Us lid.
