N.Z. CROQUET TOURNEY
FINALISTS FOUND IN MALLET COMPETITION (P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ Mar. 5. The finals in each section of the New Zealand Croquet Council’s gold and silver mallet competition were decided yesterday. The winners were C. Bryan (Lower Hutt) and D. McClymont (Wanganui). who will meet to decide the final of the tourney.
Bryan had 10 wins and no losses in No. 1 section, and McClymont had 11 wins and no losses in No. 2 section.
The following are the results of yesterday's play: Section 1. —C. Bryan beat Mrs. L. Langford (Manawatu), 26—9; Miss I. Wainright (Hamilton) beat Mrs. G. Shirley (Featherston), 26—8; Miss Wainwright beat Mrs. Richards (Nelson), 26 —12; C. Watkins (Hastings) beat Mrs. Wearing (Nelson), 26—3; Mrs. Langford beat Mrs. J. D. Whibley (Wairoa), 26—17; Mrs. I. M. Cadwallader (Wellington) beat Mrs. L. Rasmussen (Featherston), 26—24; Mrs. Cadwallader beat Mrs. Whibley, 26—11; Mrs. Rasmussen beat Mrs. J. Davidson (Northern), 26 —18. Section 2. —C. Bennett (Hastings) beat Mrs. H. Brown (Northern). 26—4; C. Bennett beat Mrs. M. Greig (Upper Hutt), 26—19; C. Bennett beat Mrs. D. Sheargold (Wellington).22o; C. Bennett beat Miss Turton (Nelson), 26—6; D. McClymont (Wanganui) beat Mrs. Brown, 26—1; D. McClymont beat Mrs. Sheargold, 26—6; D. McClymont beat Mrs. M. Heather (Nelson), 26 —11; Mrs. Heather beat Mrs. Greig. 26—14; Mrs. Heather beat Mrs. R. McMurray (Manawatu). 26 —22; Miss Turton beat Mrs. McMurray. 26—18; Mrs. V.
