Fruit Research Station In Hawkes’ Bay
HASTINGS, Mar. 4. The Government has bought a 24acre block on the . Napier-Havelock North road to establish a large fruit research station When in full operation the new station will be used for research into problems of small fruit growers and vegetable growers as well as those of the pip fruit and stonefruit industries. The Hawke's Bav Fruitgrowers' Association considers that the new station, situated in the heart of the fruit-pro-ducing locality, will be of tremendous value.
It is stated that eventually the fruit research section of the plant diseases division will move from Auckland to the new station.
