RAILWAY STRIKE ENDS
SYDNEY, Feb. 28. The strike by salaried officers of the South Maitland Railway Company has been settled and work was to be resumed at midnight last night. The strike began last Tuesday when members- of the Salaried Officers’ Association claimed that the company had failed to observe the seniority rule in making an appointment. The strike compelled 17 mines to close because of the lack of trucks.
