GOOD LAND BEING TAKEN OUT OF PRODUCTION
Stating that lack of a proper land utilisation policy resulted in many factories being built on larger areas than necessary, taking first-class land out of production, Mr. H. J. Donnelly, Ohakune, at a meeting of the Rangitikei Catchment Board, in Marton commented that something should be done to check land wastage.
He supposed that the growth of New Zealand secondary industries represented progress, but this did not alter the fact that much good land was being taken out of production, said Mr. Donnelly.
