Cyclist Injured in Mishap Near Patutahi

When a truck and a cyclist collided on the Gisborne-Patutahi road near the sub-station turn-off at about 4.30 p.m. on Thursday the cyclist received injuries which resulted in her later being admitted to the Cook Hospital suffering from concussion. She was Margaret Dalrymple, aged 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dalrymple, Patutahi. ■ Miss Dalrymple was riding hom,e from the Gisborne High School when a truck travelling in the same direction passed her. The first indication the truck driver had of an accident was when he felt a slight bump. On stopping, he found the girl lying on the road. The cycle was undamaged. The truck was driven by Mr. Jack Kingi, Wanganui. An ambulance was called and Miss Dalrymple taken to the Cook Hospital, where her condition was reported to be comfortable.
