GO a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 22. Queensland scored an outright win over West Australia in the Sheffield Shield match by 142 runs. A flawless century by Brown put Queensland in a commanding position. He gave a great display of confident strokes and hit 13 fours. Queensland in its second innings made 303 for five wickets declared (Brown 104, Archer 88, Tallon 36). Bowling: Dunn, two for 59, Puckett two for 10-6. West Australia made 292 in its second innings (Langdon 138, Williams 50). Bowling: McCool, seven for 128; Johnson, two for 53.
WIN FOR WEST INDIES
(10.30 a.m.) NAGPUR, Dec. 21. West Indies defeated the Central Provinces’ Governor’s XI by six wickets. The Governor’s XI in the second innings scored 184. Bowling, Jones took five for 52 and Gomez four for 50. West Indies in their second innings scored 143 for four (Stollmeyer 52, Gomez 37 not out; Gulmahomed, three for 43.
