MONOWAI PASSES SEA TRIALS AFTER REFITTING

SYDNEY, Dec. 20. The Union Steam Ship Company's liner Monowai has successfully concluded her sea trials after refit at Mort’s Dock lasting two years. The Monowai served during the war as an armed merchant cruiser and an infantry landing ship. Yesterday she registered a speed of 17 knots while on test. She will resume the Australia-New Zealand run on January 28 on a schedule of three and a half days under the command of Captain, G. B. Morgan, who commanded the Awatea when she was sunk on war service.
