ORIOLE FARAM RECEIVES HIGH PRAISE

Overseas critiques of the work of Oriole Faram, now Mrs. J. H. Aitchison, concert pianist, who is re-visiting Gisborne after a long absence, have been received in Gisborne, pointing to the recognised ability and artistry of this New Zealander. “Brilliant and. finished was the performance of Oriole Faram Aitchison in her pianoforte recital given on Tuesday evening,” reported the Brandon Sun (Canada). "Throughout her programme Mrs. Aitchison showed a technique that was absolutely complete,' and yet not overpowering her many sensitive temperamental qualities. There was no fantastic gesture to emphasise emotional qualities, yet those deep feelings were

brought to the audience. The artist’s life has been spent in the study of music and this exceptional training enables her to command an exquisitely coloured and finely free presentation. “Added to natural ability and skilful training, Mrs. Aitchison has personal charm and attractive stage bearing. She feels for her audience and carries them with her into the realms of the pure delight of music.’’ The musician to which this tribute, and many others, was paid, intends to stay in Gisborne for several months, now that she has found a house at 139 Rutene road, and she will be giving recitals and concerts.
