TASMAN RACE ENTRANT TO LEAVE TODAY

Auckland, Dec. 20.
Auckland's sole representative in the 1949 Tasman yacht race, the 28ft. sloop Ghost, was launched on Friday after a final overhaul and (he crew started loading stores and water on Saturday. It is hoped to leave for Sydney today, make Lord Ilowe Island by the New Year and have a fortnight in Sydney to tune up before the race. The crew of five consists of the owner Ken Brown, the skipper Terry Hammond, Noel Mitchell, Dick Mcllvride and Peter Robinson.
