WOOL SECRETARIAT RESIGNATION

(11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 16. The International Wool Secretariat today announced the resignation of Mr. M. Saveli as managing director of its North American office and the appointment of Mr. W Francis Fitzgerald as his successor.' Mr. Fitzgerald will hold the post of acting managing director.

Mr. Saveli had been managing director since March, 1946. The task of the secretariat, which has extensive offices and a showroom in Manhattan, is to promote (he use of wool regardless of the country of origin. Its expenses are borne by the woolgrowers of Australia, New Zealand and .South Africa. Mr. Fitzgerald, who has long experience in public relations posts, was appointed assistant managing director of the secretariat's North American office in July. '
