French Demolish Berlin Radio Towers
(10 a.m.)
BERLIN, Dec. 16,
Two large antennae towers of the Russian-controlled Berlin radio which endangered Western aircraft flying the airlift into Berlin, were blown up today by French engineers, reports the British United Press correspondent in Berlin.
The towers were in the French sector on the northern outskirts of Berlin near Tegel airfield. The French warned the Russians a fortnight ago that they intended to demolish them.
