British & U.S. Oil Firms To Be Barred In Russian Zones
(11 a.m.)
LONDON, Dec. IG.
British and American oil companies will be put out of business in the Soviet zone next month, says the Associated Press correspondent in Hamburg.
' This is the effect of new Russian orders the details of which have been received by oil companies in Hamburg. The companies affected are the Standard. Shell and Olex (Anglo-Iranian). Supplies of locally produced and imported oil products will be handled only by the Russian-owned combine from January 1.
The Russian organisation is known as Derunapbt which stands for Deutsche Russische Naphta Gesellschaft. Orders to this effect were issued to German managers of British and American firms in the Soviet zones recently by the Soviet-sponsored German Economic Commission.
