AUSTRALIAN TENNIS STRONGER
SYDNEY (By Air Mail)
Form displayed in the New South Wales tennis championships at the end of November shows that Australia could send away a stronger team than this year’s—if a challenge is lodged next year. U.S. and world professional champion. Jack Kramer, on his return from New Zealand, said in Sydney that John Bromwich and Frank Secigman “must” be included in such a team. With such a backbone to a team, younger players would gain valuable experience. Kramer is supported by sports writers who declare that Bromwich in his Sydney matches was easily the best of the more mature players, and none of the colts was within reach of Sedgman s class. Last year Bromwich was excluded from the Davis Cup team by a Lawn Tennis Association of Australia ruling that he must be vailing to fly to America. It is unlikely that Bromwich will travel overseas except byship.—Reuter.
