Rebates To Sponsors Of “Miss N.Z.” Quest
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16 At a meeting of the honorary board of directors of the “Miss New Zealand’ quest it was decided to institute a system of rebates to ..11 sponsors, similar to that which has applied to the “Miss Australia” quests since their inception. The purpose of the debates is to encourage all types of organisations to sponsor candidates, at the same_ time helping their own finances. This applies to branches of the Air Force Association.
All sponsors must pay in a qualifying fee of £IOO for their candidates, but in respect of amounts raised in excess ol £IOO rebates according to the following scale may be applied for:—From £lOl to £2OO, 33 1-3 per cent; from £2Ol to £3OO, 40 per cent; over £3OO, 50 per cent. To substantiate claims for rebates duly audited statements of receipts and expenditure will be required. The total amount raised must Be paid in, the rebates being paid subsequently.
It was stated that inquiries for entry forms were already being received, and it was likely that many districts nol represented in the last quest would have candidates in the 1949 quest. In one such district alone there was a possibility of no fewer than eight candidates.
Owing to the necessity for his visiting England for some considerable time next year the chainnan of the board, Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park, has been elected patron of the quest, Mr A. J. Manson being elected chairman in his place.
