RECORD XMAS GIFT CARGO FOR U.K.
SYDNEY, Nov. 14 The food-for-Britain fund will send a record 200,000 special Christmas food parcels to England this month. This was stated by the fund secretary, Mr. li. Simpson, yesterday. “When the Ormonde leaves Australia at the end of the month it will carry the biggest shipment of gift food on record,” he said. “In October, 1947, the fund handled £35,085 worth of gift parcels, this October £86,773 worth.”
