Recording of "Messiah”

A custom almost inseparable from Christinas in most parts of the English speaking world is a performance of Handel’s oratorio, “The Messiah”. The new electrically recorded version is to be presented in the Botanical Gardens, Gisborne next Sunday at 2.30 p.m. The performance was recorded by the Huddersfield Choral Society, with tho Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, under the conductorship of Dr. Malcolm Sargent, one of the greatest of living conductors.

This will be the first occasion in New Zealand when an open air concert ol this magnitude has been presented. A retiring collection will be taken up in aid of the funds of the Heni Materoa Home.
