Britain Re-equipping Polish Textile Mills
(10 a.m.)
WARSAW, Dec. 13
Britain is to play an important part in re-equipping the Polish textile industry by supplying between 1949 and 1952 £1,500,000 worth of cotton spinning machinery. Already the first consignments of machinery have reached the Polish port of Gydnia. A further £700,000 worth of rayon manufacturing machines have been ordered. Poland*’s textile industry is already climbing back slowly to its pre-war peak output, but it is not considered likely to attempt serious competition in world markets for several years to come.
