MR. A. J. McCALLION is appointed a member of the Opotiki and Waioeka Domain Board in place of the late Mr F. J. Short, states a notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
MR. N. T. SMITH is to be deputy registrar of births, deaths and mar t-iages at Tolaga Bay and deputy registrar of birth and deaths of Maoris at Tolaga Bay, according to a notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
MR. F. SHARPLEY, coach for the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay Amateur Athletic Centre, arrives at Gisborne tomorrow from Napier. He will coach amateur athletics at the Childers Road Reserve on Wednesday afternoon and evening and again on Thursday morning.
MAJOR TEMPORARY LIEUTENANT COLONEL J. A. WORSNOP, M.8.E., New Zealand Regiment, who returned from Japan in the Westralia, has been appointed commander of Area 10.
MR. A. A. FRASER was re-elected chairman for his 20th term at tha annual meeting of the Waikohu County Council this morning, and was congratulated by other members on his election.
