COUPLE UNDER DEATH SENTENCE TO MARRY
LONDON, Dec. 8.
An armless girl and her one-legged lover, awaiting execution for collaboration with the Germans, have been granted permission to marry in gaol, says the British United Press correspondent. Police and relatives will be witnesses.
The couple, Joergen Lorentzen and Ann Lund, lost their limbs in the lastditch fight against Danish resistance groups when the war ended.
Lorentzen, whom the Germans appointed chief of the Copenhagen police, was found guilty of torturing and beating Danes. Lund was found guilty of beating prisoners on Lorentzcn’s orders. Site will be the first woman war criminal to be executed in Denmark.
