Britain Salvages Metal Of German Warships

LONDON, Dec. 10.
Scrap metal from the remnants of the German submarine fleet and other wrecks of Hitler's Navy, which lie rusting at the bottom of Kiel's tideless harbour, are being shipped to Britain at the rate of 20.000 tons monthly for which £7 2s Gd is credited to the German economy for every ton recovered, says the Times correspondent in Kiel. German contractors jubilant at the high prices paid. Until two months ago such scrap was classed as war bootv and was available free, but under the bipartite agreement with America, Britain is now breaking up what w left of the German Fleet at her own expense.
