WASHINGTON, Dec. 8,
The Census Bureau estimated today that the present population of the United States is 147.280,000 compared with 131,069,275 in 1940.
The bureau estimated the population increase for the first nine months of 1948 at 1.800,000 compared with 2,100,000 in the corresponding period of 1947.
