THREE POLIO CASES CONFIRMED AS POSITIVE
(P-A.) CHRISTCHURCH. Dec. 6. Three suspected cases of poliomyelitis in the Canterbury and West Coast health district were confirmed as positive during the week-end. The coast cases are those of a man aged 21 years from Kanieri, who was admitted to the Westland Hospital on December 1 and a boy aged 10 years from Hokitika who was admitted to hospital on November 30. A boy from Woolston was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital on December 4 as a suspected xasc.
