Secret tests ol the first car Jet turbine proved so successful that, with the Ministry of Supply’s backing, a turbine for small can now U being designed.
It will simplify driving, make cars faster and cheaper to produce, says the Daily Herald’s motoring writer. Gear changing will be eliminated in the new jet car. The driver will merely have to steer, brake and control speed,
A prototype foi lorries and large cars, which is at oresent completing tests, Is sft. long and develops 160 brake horse-power. It is expected that the turbine for the smaller cars will fit into the rear chassis.
