HEALTH STAMP SALES £2297 IN GISBORNE DISTRICT
With a little over two months of the 1948 health stamp campaign gone, £2291 4s 6d worth of stamps have been sold in the Gisborne health camp district which embraces the Gisborne, Whakatane and Wairoa areas. Following excellent first-day sales on October 1 and steady sales during the rest of that month and last month, the sales at the Chief Post Office, Gisborne, for October and November totalled £1216. At country offices £590 10s worth of stamps were sold in that period. The total of £IBOS 10s, for the Gisborne postal district exceeds the 1948 quota of £1765 by £4l 10s. Sales in the Gisborne postal district last month totalled £384 7s, £355 of this amount being disposed of at the Chief Post Office, Gisborne. In addition to the Gisborne sales of £IBO6 10s in October and November. £256 Is worth of stamps were sold in (he Whakatane area and £234 13s 6d worth in the Wairoa area. The campaign closes on January 31.
