BRIDE’S WHITE GOWN OFF-SET BY RED ONE

Holy Trinity Church, bedecked with red roses, carnations and poppies by the bride’s friends. Was the setting for the marriage on Saturday of Noeline Hazel, daughter of Mrs. J. V. Castles; Aberdeen road, and the late Mr. Castles, and Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudfleld, Hastings. Their, wedding was solemnised by the Rev. P. B. Blakiston, and the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. W. Castles, Waipukurau.

A coronet of orange blossom over a long, white scalloped veil and a lovely sheaf of white gladioli, roses and lilies, effectively oft-set the bride’s gown of white French marquisette, worn over heavy white satin. It featured a tucked .yoke and ruchings of the same material. The long sleeves were niched at the cuffs and the long train, failing out from a low waistline, was embroidered with a true lovers’ knot. She also wore pearl earrings and a single strand of pearls. The bride’s sister, Miss Joyce Castles, attended her, wearing by contrast a red satin-backed crepe frock fashioned in a style similar to the bride’s, and also wearing pearls and matching earrings. White lilies, gladioli and roses were carried in her bouquet, and her coronet was a matching one. The bride’s train was carried by the page boy, Tom Bayley, the bride’s nephew, who was in white satin. Mr. Harry Dudfleld, the bridegroom's cousin, was the best man.

For the reception at the “Bon Accord” the bride’s mother wore a teal blue frock embroidered in white with a white hat trimmed to match her frock, and carried a pink and mauve floral bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother was in a black edge-to-edge coat and black hat worn with a floral silk frock in pastel shades, matching her corsage. Also at the reception was Mrs. A. C. Bayley, in a floral frock with a blue hat, and the bridegroom’s aunt, Mrs. Gillies, Dunedin, who chose a violet suit with a matching hat and fox fur. The bride wore a petunia frock with a pink-tucked yoke, a black, lightweight coat and small black veiled hat when she left with her husband for a tour of the North Island. Mr. and Mrs. A. Dudfleld will make their home in Hastings. Following the wedding festivities a dance for the young people was given at her home by Mrs. Castles in honour of the eighteenth birthday of her younger daughter. Miss Joyce CastlesSweet peas and greenery decorated the house.
